Only one point separates these two currently mid-table teams at the moment.
Owen Newell, Irvine Stern, Alta Rasharn, Tyreece Kennedy-Williams
Kieran Cummings, Oscar Ramirez, Cory Bacalussi, Cameron Smith
Charlie Wilde, Syme Mulvany
Initially a fairly even game but on 24 minutes a good cross in from Corey Bacalussi was headed in at the far post by Charlie Wilde to put the young ‘Pies ahead.
Nine minutes later a saw good break through by Tyreece Kennedy-Williams who reached the ball before the advancing ‘keeper and chipped it over him and into the net to put Notts further ahead.
With no further scoring before the break Notts went in 2-0 ahead.
The second half saw a more even game with both sides taking it in turns to attack. Both sides also hit the woodwork on more than one occasion. Notts’ Charlie Wilde was particularly unlucky when his initial shot hit the cross-bar and he was able to collect the rebound only to send in another shot which also hit the bar before going over.
With twenty minutes to go Notts changed their ‘keeper with Tiernan Brooks replacing Max Culverwell. Brooks was soon in action pulling off a couple of outstanding saves as Lincoln pressed hard to try to get back into the game. Notts stood firm though and no goals were scored in the second half.
Full time: Notts County 2-0 Lincoln City
This was a comfortable victory for the young ‘Pies who were in control for much of the game and the more dangerous of the two teams up front
