Experienced full-back Nicky Hunt, 33, formerly of Bolton Wanderers and Leyton Orient, and winger Elliot Hodge signed. Hodge who previously had a trial at the club said “I did my scholarship here and learned a lot about the club”. He further stated that “My best quality is probably my pace. I like to stay wide and get in one-v-one situations with defenders”.
Also among new signings are goal keeper Branislav Pindroch, 25, defender Pierce Bird, 18, and Striker Callum Saunders, 21. Pindroch becomes the first Slovakian to play for the club. Both Pindroch and Bird had successful trial periods at Notts. The name Saunders if it sounds familiar it is as Callum is no less than the son of Liverpool’s Dean Saunders. Callum previously with Crewe through their academy scored twice for them in 35 appearances.
Further bolstering the squad is 19 year old loan player Ryan Yates from Nottingham Forest. Manager Kevin Nolan has described Ryan as a quality lad and a great professional amid other complimentary remarks.
