Harry Kewell has departed Notts County through his contract being terminated by Notts County Football Club, on the back of a poor run of results and performances; with Kewell’s led side winning just three of their last fourteen games. Chairman and owner Alan Hardy stated, “Harry’s passion and commitment as a coach is unquestionable.
“I enjoyed seeing first-hand his love for the job and it gives me absolutely no pleasure to take that away from him.
“Unfortunately, however, things quite simply were not working out for him here at Meadow Lane.
“Results have not been good enough and performance levels are a continuing concern. We see no reason to continue with something we don’t think can work.
“Harry leaves with our best wishes for the future and our search for a new manager begins immediately.
“We hope to make an appointment before Saturday’s Sky Bet League Two match at home to Cheltenham Town.”
The search for another manager this season has begun already and this is vital for the club to get right.
Fans reactions so far are very mixed, with one member from our Facebook group saying “I think he had good intentions, but it just wasn’t working. Something had to be done & it had to be done quickly. I see this as a positive move & hope Harry’s replacement manages to get results“.
