On a day that Notts were expecting a bumper crowd for the visit of Hartlepool United, it was a great surprise that a group of Belgium Magpie supporters dropped in to visit our supporters shop here at Meadow Lane.
They had played a game of football against a group of Notts County fans earlier in the day and said that they had a wonderful time and found great friendship with the Notts supporters squad, the game was played in a great spirit and was enjoyed by everyone participating, with a wry smile the Belgium Magpies said that they just got the better of the Notts supporters team but it was a very close game and again with a wry smile he said that friendship and football fans were the winner.
The Belgium Magpies were welcomed by Lois Brough the NCFCOSA membership secretary and her assistant Barbara Lessiter, they were given NCFCOSA badges as a memento and then they went into reception where Kate Lovett gave them Notts County shirts in exchange for their team shirts.
Here is a photograph taken with two of the Belgium Magpie fans in the office with Lois and Barbara.
I am sure that the Belgium Magpie fans enjoyed their chat and banter with Lois as she always has a smile on her face and is a fountain of knowledge regarding Notts County who as supported Notts County all her life, she goes to as many away games as she can, health permitting, she did the long midweek trip down to Plymouth and was full of fun and laughter all the time, so if you are passing the NCFCOSA office on a match day, just pop in and say hello to Lois and if you are not a member I am sure Lois can explain all the benefits of becoming a member.
